Buttock Lift and Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL)
Many women know it: the buttocks are not as tight, not as round as they would like. Or they are dissatisfied with the shape or even the size of the butt. For a large number of women, the buttocks are a problem zone. There are procedures in the field of plastic surgery that address this problem area. Learn more about buttock lift and the so-called Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) here.
What is a Buttock Lift?
Due to weight loss, weight fluctuations and aging processes, the skin and connective tissue are stretched and often can no longer fully retract due to the loss of elasticity. Sagging skin on the buttocks significantly affects many women, because fashionable short skirts, dresses or leggings and narrow pants can not be worn. In these cases, a buttock lift can be used to remove excess skin and fat from the buttocks. Liposuction can additionally be performed to create an even skin surface, especially in the area of the riding pants, waist, back and thighs.
What is a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL)?
In some cases, the buttocks are quite flat and have little contour with otherwise very good skin and connective tissue conditions. In these cases, an autologous fat transfer may be sufficient to achieve the desired tightening effect and to give the buttocks a feminine rounded appearance. This procedure is called the “Brazilian Butt Lift” – the “Brazilian buttock lift”. The background of this name is the ideal of beauty from Brazil: a plump, round buttocks.
Well advised and in the best hands
A plump butt with symmetrical curves is the embodiment of femininity. A Brazilian Butt Lift will help you achieve more volume and a beautiful, toned buttocks.

What is the Goal of a Buttock Lift?
The main goal of a buttock lift is to remove excess skin and fat tissue from the buttocks. This creates a beautiful youthful rounded contour of the buttocks and fashionable clothes can be worn again.
Combine Butt Lift with other Procedures?
To achieve the best possible aesthetic result, a butt lift can be combined with other procedures, such as liposuction of the riding breeches and thighs. But also a suction of fat deposits above the buttocks, the so-called “love handles”, and below the buttocks, the so-called “bananas”, additionally shapes the buttocks. It also improves the contour of the butt. The liposuctioned fat can be used for an autologous fat transfer to enlarge the buttocks or to reline facial wrinkles, for example. Autologous fat transfer to increase the size of the breasts is also possible.
A dynamic appearance with a youthful, vital radiance is the goal and can be achieved through a combination of different procedures.
2. Surgery Methods for Buttocks Lift and Brazilian Butt Lift
Only safe and modern surgical methods are used. A buttock lift is performed under general anesthesia, and an overnight hospital stay may be appropriate. If only liposuction is performed, such a procedure can usually be performed on an outpatient basis for small findings and young healthy patients. If liposuction is combined with autologous fat transfer, a hospital stay for one night may be recommended.
Various techniques for performing a butt lift are known and have proven successful. The best and safest surgical method for you will be chosen, depending on your anatomy, your goals and desires.
Procedure and Incision for Buttock Lift
In a classic buttock lift, the incisions are made above the buttocks for optimal removal of fat and excess skin. In very pronounced cases, the excess tissue is not simply removed, but is piled up using a special technique and used to build up the buttocks. This process is called “autoaugmentation”. It is used, for example, after massive weight loss. In special cases, the buttock lift can also start from the folds below the buttocks. The scars are then later hidden in the folds below the buttocks. Basically, Dr. Sattler will place the scars so that they are hidden by underwear or bikini bottoms.
Dr. Sattler uses an electric scalpel that allows him to operate with extreme precision and minimizes blood loss. The wound is sutured with special self-dissolving stitches. This makes it almost impossible for the wound edges to separate and eliminates the need for stitches to be removed. The wound edges are sealed with a special skin adhesive. On the one hand, this creates optimal conditions for the best possible wound healing; on the other hand, contamination of the wound by germs from the nearby anal area is prevented.
Buttock Lift with Autologous Fat Transfer
In patients with little excess skin and good connective tissue, a buttock lift can be performed using only autologous fat transfer, if necessary, without removing any tissue. This procedure is called Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL). There will be practically no visible scars. The result is clearer and more harmonious when fat deposits on the lower back, waist, below the buttocks and on the thighs and riding breeches are suctioned. On the one hand, this results in an accentuated buttocks with feminine curves, on the other hand, the fat gained in this way is needed for the autologous fat transfer. In our practice we will advise you in detail about buttock augmentation with autologous fat – Brazilian butt lift surgery.
There are various surgical techniques and combinations of different methods for tightening and enlarging the buttocks. Therefore, before the procedure, Dr. Sattler will discuss with you exactly which techniques will best and most safely achieve your goals and wishes. Dr. Sattler will ensure that an even body silhouette is created, resulting in the best possible aesthetic outcome with scars that are as discrete as possible.

Buttock Lift Post Treatment
An overnight stay in the clinic is usually advisable after a buttock lift, but often not necessary after a Brazilian Butt Lift. An overnight stay in the clinic is usually advisable after a buttock lift, but often not necessary after a Brazilian Butt Lift. Special compression garments should be worn for several weeks to support wound healing. But also so that the skin can retract in the best possible way and an even body silhouette is created. Compression also aids lymphatic flow, improves wound water evacuation, and thus minimizes swelling.
Physical exertion and sports should be avoided for several weeks after the procedure. A butt lift, possibly in combination with liposuction, can achieve very aesthetically pleasing results. In order to support wound healing and maintain the achieved results in the best possible way, attention should be paid to a balanced and healthy diet at least during the wound healing phase. Alcohol and nicotine should also be avoided as far as possible.
Buttock Lift and Brazilian Butt Lift Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
It makes sense to combine a buttock lift with liposuction to achieve the best possible aesthetic result. In particular, fat deposits on the waist, “love handles”, “bananas”, riding breeches and thighs can be suctioned to optimize the contour of the buttocks. The extracted fat can be used for an autologous fat transfer to the buttocks or breasts. The female contours are thus accentuated even further. However, the fat can also be used to even out wrinkles on the face or hands. This creates an overall youthful and vital look.
Recent studies show that the results of a Brazilian Butt Lift can be achieved more safely if moderate amounts of autologous fat are transferred, preferably spread over multiple surgeries. The insertion of very large volumes of autologous fat in just one session, on the other hand, can be associated with health risks.
The basic requirement for repeated injections of the buttocks with autologous fat is that there are enough fat reserves that can be suctioned to obtain the autologous fat
The scars resulting from a Brazilian Butt Lift are very small and are hidden in the natural folds of the skin whenever possible. They are therefore almost invisible. This means that skimpy underwear or even string bikinis can also be worn. Even in the sauna or on the beach, you can move carefree after such a procedure without showing the signs of surgery.
As with all procedures performed by Dr. Sattler, no fixed all-inclusive price can be quoted for buttock lift or Brazilian Butt Lift. The requirements, wishes and goals of the patients are too different. Of course, we will clarify the costs incurred in your specific case with you in advance and set them out transparently.
