1. Why should I have my Lips Injected?
Lip injections are usually performed for aesthetic reasons:
- It leads to greater lip volume, i.e. fuller, curved lips that contribute to a sensual, seductive look.
- By using lip injections, irregularities can be corrected, for example, if the ratio between the upper and lower lip is out of proportion. Also, the shape and contour of the lips can be modified and signs of aging can be counteracted.

There are several methods to perform lip injections. The most common ones are injections with fillers or autologous fat transfer. Before the treatment, Dr. Sattler will consult you in detail and respond to your wishes and expectations.
Lip Injections with Hyaluronic Acid
Lip augmentation with hyaluronic acid does not require surgery. The area around the mouth is locally numbed with an anesthetic cream. Thus, the injection is almost painless. The hyaluronic acid is injected with a thin needle. The result is visible immediately and will last for several months.
Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that also occurs in the body, but degrades over time. Lip injections with hyaluronic acid can be refreshed at any time, allowing you to have your personal dream lips long term.
Injecting Lips with Autologous Fat
Lip augmentation with autologous fat is comparatively more complex, as liposuction takes place before the actual injection. Under local or general anesthesia, fat is suctioned from specific areas of the body, such as the abdomen and is prepared prior to injection. Unlike hyaluronic acid injections, autologous fat transfer is permanent, so it usually does not need to be re-done.

4. Frequently Asked Questions about Lip Injections
Injections with hyaluronic acid take only a few minutes and are therefore faster than an autologous fat transfer. The treatment with autologous fat takes at least one hour, including liposuction.
